Recap: Southern Alamance Patriots vs. Eastern Alamance Eagles
Even though the Eastern Alamance Eagles scored an imposing 68 points on Saturday, the Southern Alamance Patriots still came out on top. Southern Alamance walked away with a 79-68 victory over Eastern Alamance. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, as Southern Alamance did.
Southern Alamance had a senior duo take command as Jordan Moore scored 18 points along with nine assists and six rebounds and Liam Forester scored 22 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Moore posted eight or more assists. Tyler Moore was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Eastern Alamance's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jalen Alston, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Michael Reaves, who scored 12 points.
Southern Alamance has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Eastern Alamance, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Southern Alamance will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Williams at 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd. Williams will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Eastern Alamance will take on Bartlett Yancey at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bartlett Yancey is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
