Baseball Recap: Woodstock Wins Going Away Against Richmond-Burton

Woodstock made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Richmond-Burton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Blue Streaks were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Rockets on Wednesday. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Blue Streaks this season.

Max Haggerty made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Haggerty was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Woodstock let Angelo Pacini and Chace Waterson run wild. Pacini scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Waterson scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Pacini a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Willard, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Woodstock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.2.

The win snapped Woodstock's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-7 record. As for Richmond-Burton, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodstock will head out to take on Sandwich at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Richmond-Burton, they will venture away from home to challenge Byron at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
