The Englewood Pirates will face off against the Front Range Christian Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Englewood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Englewood took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Weld Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Rebels on Monday.

Rj Cullyford was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
Cullyford wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cristian Ayala, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Front Range Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of SkyView Academy.
Like Englewood, Front Range Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Haedan Morton. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Morton was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Englewood is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Front Range Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Englewood has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Front Range Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Englewood beat Front Range Christian 6-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
