Softball Recap: Ransom Everglades Comes Up Short

Ransom Everglades was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 21-11 to the Coral Shores Hurricanes. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (ten), the Raiders still had to take the loss.

Addie Rothfield and Lucia Pardo Munoz Ledo stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rothfield went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run, while Pardo Munoz Ledo scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Jilly Demos-Brown also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Ransom Everglades' defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Coral Shores, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Ransom Everglades and Coral Shores could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Raiders will take on Key West at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (519 vs. 106). Meanwhile, Coral Shores (ranked 365th) will meet Miami Christian (ranked 60th) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
