Basketball Recap: Faith Kirlis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Marie Philip over American School for the Deaf

Marie Philip was the 46-20 winner over American School for the Deaf when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts fell 41-29 to the American School for the Deaf Tigers on Wednesday. The Galloping Ghosts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marie Philip lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Faith Kirlis, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Kirlis has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Solina Rampino, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

American School for the Deaf got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Diana C out in front who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of K'Marie Owens, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 10 points and six rebounds.

Marie Philip's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for American School for the Deaf, their record is now 2-0.

Marie Philip didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-28 defeat against New York School for the Deaf on the 6th. As for American School for the Deaf, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 14-12 victory against Lexington School for the Deaf on the 6th.
