Baseball Recap: Auburn Comes Up Short

The Auburn Rockets didn't have quite enough to beat the West Springfield Terriers on Monday and fell 7-6.

Jayden Ortiz was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Owen Sens, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Auburn now has a losing record of 2-3. As for West Springfield, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Auburn will face off against Uxbridge at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Springfield, they will square off against Longmeadow at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Terriers will need to watch out since the Lancers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
