Basketball Game Preview: Penquis Valley Patriots vs. Central Red Devils

Penquis Valley hasn't had much luck against Central recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Penquis Valley Patriots will face off against the Central Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Penquis Valley is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 58-34 to Bucksport.

Meanwhile, Central faced Dexter in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Central wound up with the same score they had in their last game (53-40), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Their defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Penquis Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Penquis Valley suffered a grim 62-42 defeat to Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Penquis Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
