Basketball Recap: Ayala Piles Up the Points Against Claremont

Ayala posted their biggest victory since November 22, 2024 on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Claremont Wolfpack 78-43. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 846th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Claremont's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Cardenas, who posted six points and six assists. The dominant performance gave Cardenas a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Zitar, who put up ten points and five rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Ayala and bumps their season record up to 14-7. As for Claremont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Ayala will venture away from home to challenge Bonita at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Claremont, they will welcome Diamond Bar at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Diamond Bar's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
