Softball Recap: North Point Takes a Loss

North Point extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 7-5 in the process. They lost 14-0 to the Huntingtown Hurricanes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 5-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Huntingtown, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. Considering they have won nine contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Huntingtown's part, North Point's batters probably weren't too happy with Jordyn Greever, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 15 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Greever has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Madalee Hunley was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Morgan Cranford, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, North Point will challenge Thomas Stone at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Huntingtown has already played their next matchup (against Calvert), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
