Basketball Recap: Sterling Comes Up Short

If Sterling was feeling good fresh off their 63-19 takedown of Ninnekah last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sterling Tigers received a blow on Friday as they fell 42-27 to the Alex Longhorns. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Longhorns are ranked 142nd).

Sterling has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Alex, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Sterling Tigers duke it out with the Fletcher Wildcats at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Alex has already played their next matchup (against Dibble), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
