Baseball Recap: Augusta Find Success

Augusta won the last time they faced Heritage Academy and things went their way on Monday too. Augusta walked away with an 8-4 win over Heritage Academy. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Grayson Miller made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Keeton Bach, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Griffin Miller, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Augusta now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Heritage Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Augusta Panthers challenge Bellevue Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Dayton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage Academy is facing Dayton at the right time seeing as Dayton is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
