After flying high against Somerset Christian last Thursday, Wayne County came back down to earth. The Cardinals lost 16-6 to the Southwestern Warriors on Tuesday. The Cardinals' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Wayne County's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-7. As for Southwestern, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Wayne County will head out to take on North Laurel at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southwestern, they will challenge McCreary Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
