Walnut Ridge beats Osceola for their second straight win

Recap: Walnut Ridge Bobcats vs. Osceola Seminoles

Even though The Walnut Ridge Bobcats have not done well against the Osceola Seminoles recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Walnut Ridge walked away with a 32-22 victory over Osceola. The win made it back-to-back wins for Walnut Ridge.

Enrique Perez was a one-man wrecking crew for Walnut Ridge as he rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Robbie Tate was another key contributor, rushing for 62 yards and two touchdowns.

Several Seminoles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeremiah Jacobs, who rushed for 118 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Bell, who threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns.

Walnut Ridge's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Piggott and 0-9 Cave City (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 27.2% over those games). As for Osceola, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walnut Ridge will challenge Manila at 6:55 p.m. on Friday. As for Osceola, they will head out on the road to face off against Hoxie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hoxie is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
