Softball Game Preview: Ankeny Hawks vs. Dowling Catholic Maroons

Ankeny is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Dowling Catholic a three-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Ankeny Hawks will be playing at home against the Dowling Catholic Maroons at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Ankeny came up short against Northwest and fell 5-1.

Meanwhile, Dowling Catholic lost 12-5 to Johnston on Thursday.

Ankeny's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Dowling Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Ankeny beat Dowling Catholic 5-0 in their previous meeting back in June of 2024. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Maroons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
