Basketball Recap: Great Plains Lutheran's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

If Wilmot wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Great Plains Lutheran, they should've done a better job of containing Brody Scharlemann. The Great Plains Lutheran Panthers breezed by the Wilmot Wolves to the tune of 78-51 on Thursday thanks in part to Scharlemann, who went 8 for 17 on his way to 23 points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Landon Czerwan was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Great Plains Lutheran's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9. As for Wilmot, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Great Plains Lutheran Panthers challenge the Arlington Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wilmot has already played their next contest (against Langford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
