Recap: Kim/Branson Mustangs vs. South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] Patriots

The Kim/Branson Mustangs lost against the South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] Patriots back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Kim/Branson lost to South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] at home by a decisive 44-28 margin. Kim/Branson has not had much luck with South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Kim/Branson saw an underclassman step up: Kennedy Cranson scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Cranson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Ysabel Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kate Elmore, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Elmore is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Elmore, who scored ten points along with seven steals and six rebounds.

Kim/Branson's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett], they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Kim/Branson will square off against Centennial at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Wiley at 4:00 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
