Baseball Recap: El Paso-Gridley Comes Up Short

El Paso-Gridley's last matchup with Tremont could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Wednesday. The Titans came up short against the Turks, falling 12-6. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Turks recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Elliott Toth was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Ricconi, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

El Paso-Gridley's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Tremont, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4.

Coming up, El Paso-Gridley will challenge MacArthur at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Titans are facing the Generals at the right time seeing as the Generals are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Tremont, they will take on Peoria Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.33 runs per game on average), something the Turks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
