Soccer Recap: Oak Lawn Takes a Loss

Oak Lawn and Downers Grove South squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Oak Lawn had to settle for second. They lost 6-0 to the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, Oak Lawn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 296th, while Downers Grove South are ranked 127th).

Oak Lawn has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9-1 record this season. As for Downers Grove South, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8-2.

Oak Lawn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Downers Grove South, they will venture away from home to square off against York at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. York will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last.
