Basketball Recap: Morristown-Hamblen East Comes Up Short at Home Against Alcoa

Morristown-Hamblen East unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 76-38 loss at the hands of the Alcoa Tornadoes. The Hurricanes lost against the Tornadoes in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 86-85 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Morristown-Hamblen East lost on Tuesday, don't look at Chance Stokely. Despite the final result, he shot 50% from the field to rack up 12 points and eight boards. Stokely is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Alcoa has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Morristown-Hamblen East will be playing at home against Claiborne at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Alcoa, they will venture away from home to challenge Farragut at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
