Soccer Game Preview: Ballston Spa vs. South Glens Falls

The Ballston Spa Scotties are taking a road trip to square off against the South Glens Falls Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ballston Spa's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Ballston Spa came up short against Bethlehem Central on Saturday, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Ballston Spa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 159th, while Bethlehem Central are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, South Glens Falls hasn't lost a match since September 12th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Wednesday. They and Glens Falls finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw.

Anthony Cooper and Asher Martens scored all three of South Glens Falls' goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Ballston Spa's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1. South Glens Falls' draw gives them a new season record of 3-4-2.

Ballston Spa beat South Glens Falls by a goal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Scotties since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
