Basketball Recap: Texas Takes a Loss

Texas lost against Mt. Pleasant back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Texas Tigers were beaten by the Mt. Pleasant Tigers 65-36. While losing is never fun, Texas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Mt. Pleasant is ranked 52nd).

This is the second loss in a row for Texas and nudges their season record down to 11-10. As for Mt. Pleasant, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Marshall the next time they take the court. Texas will host Marshall at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Mt. Pleasant will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
