Baseball Recap: Burkburnett Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Burkburnett's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lake Worth Bullfrogs 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since March 1st.

Cooper Riley and JJ Duncan did most of the damage at the plate: Riley scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Duncan scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those two hits gave Riley a new career-high. Josh Olsen also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The win snapped Burkburnett's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-14 record. As for Lake Worth, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16-1.

Burkburnett will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bullfrogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
