Basketball Game Preview: LaGrange Academy vs. First Preparatory Christian Academy Highlanders

LaGrange Academy will square off against the First Preparatory Christian Academy Highlanders at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. First Preparatory Christian Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on LaGrange Academy, who comes in off a win.

LaGrange Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Atlanta Jewish Academy by a score of 60-51.

Meanwhile, First Preparatory Christian Academy was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 51-50 to Citizens Christian Academy.

LaGrange Academy will need to focus on slowing down Malachi Furlow, one of several First Preparatory Christian Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 15 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. That's the most blocks Furlow has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jordan Ortiz, who went 5-for-12 en route to 12 points.

LaGrange Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for First Preparatory Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.

LaGrange Academy was dealt a bruising 86-42 loss at the hands of First Preparatory Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2017. Can LaGrange Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
