Volleyball Recap: Coral Gables Starts Season with Victory Against South Dade

Coral Gables gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the South Dade Buccaneers with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cavaliers also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Coral Gables never let South Dade on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-14, 27-25.

Natasha Macau paced Coral Gables' offense, picking up 13 kills. Macau got some help from Corina McDanal and her 28 assists. Macau was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Coral Gables didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Riviera Prep on the 21st. As for South Dade, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Varela on the 21st.
