Newport - Bellevue suffers 11th straight loss on the road

The Newport - Bellevue Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Mount Si, falling 86-41. Newport - Bellevue was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-14.

Despite the loss, Newport - Bellevue still got an impressive performance from Jace Rainey, who scored 19 points. That was a full 46.3% of Newport - Bellevue's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Seng, who scored nine points.

Newport - Bellevue struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Mount Si racked up 26 assists.

Leading Mount Si to victory were Blake Forrest and Trevor Hennig. Hennig has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Marcus Heide, who scored 11 points.

Newport - Bellevue's defeat was their 11th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-17. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Mount Si, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.

Newport - Bellevue will head out on the road to square off against Skyline at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Skyline's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for Mount Si, they will play host again and welcome Eastlake, where tip off is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. on Friday. Eastlake will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Mount Si is ranked sixth).
