Baseball Recap: Avery County Vikings vs. Polk County Wolverines
After flying high against Owen on Wednesday, Avery County came back down to earth. The Vikings came up short against the Polk County Wolverines on Friday, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on Tuesday.
Avery County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Finley Trivett, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Avery County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Polk County, their record now sits at 14-8.
