Baseball Recap: Avery County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Owen on Wednesday, Avery County came back down to earth. The Vikings came up short against the Polk County Wolverines on Friday, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on Tuesday.

Avery County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Finley Trivett, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Avery County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Polk County, their record now sits at 14-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Avery County is set to face off against their familiar foe Mitchell at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Polk County will square off against rival Hendersonville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
