Baseball Recap: Enloe Comes Up Short

Enloe had lost six straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 5-13 to make it seven. They lost 12-0 to the Leesville Road Pride. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Pride when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Leesville Road, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by eight runs or more this season.

For Leesville Road's part, Alex Higdon looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Higdon has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nolan Wyss, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Landon Lewis was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

While Enloe had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
