Recap: Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans vs. North Eagles
The Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans won the last time they faced the North Eagles, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Ridge Spring-Monetta walked away with a 53-45 victory over North. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Ridge Spring-Monetta.
Ridge Spring-Monetta was led to victory by Jordyn Gilliam and Taylah Leaphart. Gilliam scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, while Leaphart scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gilliam has scored all season.
North's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dianne Hosey, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amariyah Calloway, who scored ten points.
Ridge Spring-Monetta's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for North, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Ridge Spring-Monetta will head out on the road to square off against Hunter-Kinard-Tyler at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hunter-Kinard-Tyler is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games. As for North, they will square off against Andrew Jackson Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
