Basketball Recap: Laurens Skates Past Spartanburg Christian Academy with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Laurens). They took their contest on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 76-43 victory over the Spartanburg Christian Academy Warriors. With the Raiders ahead 40-16 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Laurens to victory, but perhaps none more so than Q Quinton Watts, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Watts has posted since back in December of 2024. Travion Robinson was another key player, shooting 63% from the field on his way to 14 points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Laurens was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Laurens pushed their record up to 1-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points over those games. As for Spartanburg Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Laurens will take on Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spartanburg Christian Academy, they will face off against Our Lady of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
