Basketball Recap: Dos Pueblos Gets the Win

Dos Pueblos came into Friday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 53-52 win over the Holy Martyrs Armenian Armens. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Chargers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 555th, while the Armens are ranked 190th).

Dos Pueblos' win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7. As for Holy Martyrs Armenian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.

Dos Pueblos won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Paraclete at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Holy Martyrs Armenian, they and Avalon will face off at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
