Baseball Recap: Lakeside School Beats Beech for Their Third Straight Win

Lakeside School entered their tilt with Beech on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Buccaneers 10-2. The result was nothing new for the Chiefs, who have now won 20 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Trent Hayes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in February. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Conner Britton, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Jack Giles was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Lakeside School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Lakeside School's record now sits at 32-4. As for Beech, they moved to 11-7 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Lakeside School wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-8 win against Providence Christian Academy on the 28th. As for Beech, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-0 victory against St. Charles North on the 28th.
