Baseball Recap: Paraclete's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

If Paraclete was riding high fresh off their 9-0 takedown of St. Paul last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spirits took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Swordsmen on Thursday. The Spirits were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Swordsmen earlier this season, when they won 9-0.

Paraclete got a good showing from Mason Jacobo, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Jacobo has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Paraclete saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Schneir, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. That stolen base was Schneir's first of the season.

Paraclete moved to 7-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for St. Paul, their record now sits at 12-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paraclete will venture away from home to take on Bishop Alemany at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Spirits are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for St. Paul, they will head out to face off against Buena Park at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.
