Basketball Recap: Kelloggsville Rockets vs. Fruitport Trojans
Kelloggsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by the Fruitport Trojans 52-23.
Fruitport found their leader in sophomore Izabel Hanson-Wilbur, who went 6 for 11 en route to 17 points along with six steals and five boards. Hanson-Wilbur is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Pate, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.
Kelloggsville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Fruitport, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11.
Kelloggsville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 48-0 loss against NorthPointe Christian on the 4th. As for Fruitport, they have also already played their next match, a 45-19 defeat against Hopkins on the 4th.
