Preview: Steamboat Springs Sailors vs. Fort Lupton Bluedevils
Steamboat Springs is 0-1 against Fort Lupton since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Steamboat Springs Sailors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fort Lupton Bluedevils at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Steamboat Springs is ranked 162nd, while Fort Lupton is ranked 145th).
After soaring to 32 points the game before, Steamboat Springs were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 40-7 loss at the hands of Forge Christian.
Meanwhile, everything went Fort Lupton's way against The Academy on Friday as Fort Lupton made off with a 40-20 win.
Fort Lupton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaidyn Taylor led the charge by rushing for 114 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Galicia, who rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown.
With Steamboat Springs' loss and Fort Lupton's victory, both teams now sport identical 3-4 records.
