Volleyball Game Preview: Mountain Ridge Sentinels vs. Wasatch Wasps

The Mountain Ridge Sentinels are taking a road trip to face off against the Wasatch Wasps at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Ridge will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Mountain Ridge made easy work of West Jordan and carried off a 3-0 win.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Mountain Ridge took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-15, 25-12.

Mountain Ridge relied on the efforts of Xander Colemere, who had 15 digs, and Jaden Farnsworth, who had three digs. Those three digs gave Farnsworth a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Wasatch faced Cedar Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wasps walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Aviators. The Wasps haven't had any issues with the Aviators recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 19-25, 25-21.

Mountain Ridge's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. As for Wasatch, their record is now 14-5.

Mountain Ridge couldn't quite get it done against Wasatch in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Sentinels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
