Baseball Game Preview: Delaware County Christian Knights vs. Jenkintown Drakes

Delaware County Christian and Jenkintown are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Knights will be playing at home against the Drakes at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Jenkintown took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Delaware County Christian, who comes in off a win.

Delaware County Christian barely beat The Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights blew past The Christian Academy 12-1 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

The team relied heavily on Justin Ma, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reid Darnall, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Jenkintown was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They lost 18-1 to Calvary Christian Academy.

Jenkintown saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Giunta, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Delaware County Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Jenkintown, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

Everything went Delaware County Christian's way against Jenkintown in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Delaware County Christian made off with an 18-2 win. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Drakes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
