The Crown Point Bulldogs will challenge the Munster Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Crown Point is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Merrillville on Wednesday as they made off with a 21-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Billy Chidsey was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxtyn Alexander, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Munster made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lowell on Tuesday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Red Devils. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Red Devils on their field since May 9, 2022.
Carter Dumaresq tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zach Wright, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Munster's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Nate Southwell was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Munster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lowell only posted an OBP of .333.
Crown Point's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Munster, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Crown Point hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like Munster struggles in that department as they've averaged .368. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Crown Point beat Munster 9-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
