Basketball Game Preview: Cascade Cadets vs. Greencastle Tiger Cubs

The Cascade Cadets will take on the Greencastle Tiger Cubs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Cascade is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell to Phalen Leadership Academy 81-75.

Meanwhile, Greencastle came tearing into Friday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 65-59 W against the Eagles. Given the Tiger Cubs' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Eagles are ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greencastle's win came from a few key players Cascade will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nathan Sutherlin, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. Trevin Long was another key player, going 6-for-9 en route to 19 points.

Cascade's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points over those games. As for Greencastle, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.
