Softball Recap: Bay Path RVT Takes a Loss

Bay Path RVT was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hopedale Blue Raiders. If the Minutemen were looking for revenge after losing 8-6 to the Blue Raiders when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Liz Bennington spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and ten unearned) runs on five hits.

At the plate, Bay Path RVT got a massive performance out of Savannah Steiner, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Bella Sepulveda, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Bay Path RVT now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Hopedale, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bay Path RVT will take on Shepherd Hill Regional at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Minutemen surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hopedale, they will venture away from home to face off against Northbridge at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
