Softball Recap: Grayson County Cougars vs. Edmonson County Wildcats

After flying high against Christian Academy-Louisville last Saturday, Grayson County came back down to earth. The Grayson County Cougars took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Edmonson County Wildcats on Monday. Grayson County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Edmonson County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played two weeks ago.

For Edmonson County's part, Julie Norris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. Norris has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Jolee Vincent was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Makayla Hogg was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Grayson County's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Edmonson County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-11.
