Baseball Game Preview: Stewartsville Cardinals vs. Cameron Dragons

The Stewartsville Cardinals will square off against the Cameron Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Stewartsville turned things around against Stanberry on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Cameron posted their closest win since April 7th on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Lexington 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Dragons as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Gannon Hamilton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 15 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Hamilton wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carter Flick, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base. Those three hits gave Flick a new career-high.

Cameron hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lexington struck out 16 times.

Cameron's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Stewartsville, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
