Softball Recap: Maryvale Panthers vs. Independence Patriots
On Thursday, the Maryvale Panthers didn't have quite enough to beat the Independence Patriots and fell 4-3.

Isabel Hernandez was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
