Softball Recap: Fort Lauderdale Starts off Right with Win over South Broward

Fort Lauderdale gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the South Broward Bulldogs. The victory continues a trend for the Flying L's in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

Kylie Keenan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Quinn McFadden, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Tannar Keenan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Fort Lauderdale didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-0 defeat against Pompano Beach on the 20th. As for South Broward, they will head out on the road to challenge Cooper City at 6:30 p.m. on February 27th.
