Basketball Recap: Fitch Triumphs

Fitch hadn't done well against Norwich Free Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Fitch Falcons pulled ahead with a 50-49 photo finish over the Norwich Free Academy Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-45 back in January.

Fitch was led to victory by Carlos Ryhmer Hernandez and Si?Kis Reels. Ryhmer Hernandez almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards, while Reels dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Ryhmer Hernandez a new career-high in points. Charlie Gianocoplos was another key player, putting up four points.

The win made it two in a row for Fitch and bumps their season record up to 12-4. As for Norwich Free Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fitch will face off against East Lyme at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Norwich Free Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New London at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in New London's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 games.
