Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Gresham

Nelson typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Gresham proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 63-56 victory over Nelson. The win was all the more spectacular given the Gophers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Nelson are ranked ninth).

Gresham's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Nelson, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gresham will take on Barlow at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Barlow will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Gresham surely won't give up without a fight. As for Nelson, they will face off against David Douglas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
