Green Valley faced Basic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Gators blew past the Wolves 17-7. The Gators haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Lyla Baxter was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauryn Galvin, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Green Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Basic only posted an OBP of .423.

Green Valley's record now sits at 16-10. As for Basic, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

Coming up, Green Valley is taking a road trip to square off against Centennial at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Gators surely won't give up without a fight. Basic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
