Soccer Game Preview: King vs. Flour Bluff

King hasn't had much luck against Flour Bluff recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The King Mustangs will look to defend their home pitch against the Flour Bluff Hornets at 8:00 p.m.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, King turned things around against Alice on Tuesday. Neither they nor the Coyotes could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked the Mustangs' first draw of the season.

Meanwhile, Flour Bluff entered their tilt with Gregory-Portland on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 2-0 shutout. The Hornets' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

Flour Bluff's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. King's draw gives them a new season record of 2-7-1.
