Basketball Game Preview: Hill City Rangers vs. St. Thomas More Cavaliers

Hill City hasn't had much luck against St. Thomas More recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hill City Rangers will welcome the St. Thomas More Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. Hill City will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Hill City is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Hot Springs as Hill City made off with a 58-38 win. Given the Rangers' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Bison are ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas More was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Belle Fourche 64-29. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.

St. Thomas More's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.6 points. As for Hill City, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.

Hill City skirted past St. Thomas More 52-49 when the teams last played last Saturday. Will Hill City repeat their success, or does St. Thomas More have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
