Baseball Preview: Glide Wildcats vs. St. Mary's Crusaders        
        
		
            
 Glide has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will  face off against the St. Mary's Crusaders on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
 Things were looking good for Glide after they put the first points on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took  a  7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Valley. Glide has not had much luck with North Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
  Bryce Swain spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and six unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Michael Williams and  Lucas Miller did some serious damage despite the final result:  Williams  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  RBI, while  Miller  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4. Miller is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games he's  played.
 Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for St. Mary's offense. Their  tough  38-0 loss to Douglas  last Thursday might stick with them for a while. The  defeat means St. Mary's is still on the hunt for the season's first 'W'.
 Glide's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for St. Mary's, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
 Everything went Glide's way against St. Mary's when the teams last played  back in March of 2018 as Glide made off with  a  10-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glide since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
