Softball Recap: Breckenridge's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

Breckenridge was forced to take a big defeat against they on Wednesday, they got the better of them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 12-9 win over the Glenn Bobcats. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Huskies' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Adyson Collins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Presley Butcher, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Lydia Slavik, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Breckenridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Breckenridge's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-13. As for Glenn, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.

Looking ahead, Breckenridge will welcome Merrill at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Glenn, they will head out to take on Garber at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
